Granny squares are often one of the first projects a new crocheter learns. I wanted to create a project that utilizes this simple staple in the crochet world. Enter the Serenity Crochet Summer Top! By creating a beautiful granny square flower pattern, I crafted an elegant, yet functional summer top that is a delightful addition to your summer wardrobe.

In lieu of bulky, acrylic yarn, I have instead chosen cotton. This is great for summer clothes, and garments in general. It’s natural breathability, allows airflow, so you stay cool while looking hot!

Crafted for Advanced Beginners

Usually, I create patterns for beginners, but something about this design called to me and I had to make it! The pattern assumes you know a variety of techniques, including:

  • Magic Loop
  • Chains
  • Single Crochet
  • Double Crochet
  • Treble Crochet
  • Slip Stitch
  • Yarn over

If you are unfamiliar with any of these, please check out the video tutorial.

Now without further hesitation, lets start the pattern!
