Notes:

  • Pattern is written in US terms
  • I made this baby blanket with 2 colors of yarn. You can use more colors, or only one color.
  • Chain multiple of 4 +3 stitches. I made 100 +3 stitches, but you can chain as long as you want.

Abbreviations:

  • * *: Repeat instructions in asterisks as defined
  • ch: chain
  • dc: double crochet
  • eor: end of row
  • sc: single crochet
  • sk: skip
  • st: stitch(es)

Special Stitches

Bobble Stitch: Yarn over, and insert your hook in same stitch, yarn over and pull 2 loops through, do it 5 times at the end you should have 6 loops on the hook. Then pull through all loops


Crochet Baby Blanket: The Pattern

Ch 103
Row 1: Dc into 4th ch from hook and dc in every st until eor. {100}
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc into first 2 st, *bobble stitch into next st, sc into next 3 st*, rep until you have 3 st
left. Bobble stitch into next st, sc into next 2 st.
Attach yarn of different color
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc into every st until eor.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc into first 4 st, *bobble stitch into next st, sc into next 3 st*, rep until you have 5 st left.
Bobble stitch into next st, sc into next 4 st.
Attach yarn of the color used in row 1.
Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc into every st until eor,

Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc into first 2 st, *bobble stitch into next st, sc into next 3 st*,
rep until you have 3 st left. Bobble stitch into next st, sc into next 2 st.
Repeat rows 2-5 until you reach your desired size, alternating colors as you wish.

Border
Note: When you start to crochet the border, turn your blanket to the right side (to see the bobbles).

  1. Attach yarn to any corner.
  2. Sc around edge of blanket (I did 2 rows of sc).
  3. Fasten off, weave in ends.
