Beautiful Crochet Pocket Shawl
This simple, easy to follow shawl pattern was made using 2 colors. However, you may use as many color combinations as you like.

Notes:
- This pattern is written in US terms.
- Size: Large
- Dimensions of finished Pocket Shawl: 69”x17” (175 cm x 43 cm)
Materials:
- Yarn: 2 skeins of Craftsmart Value 100% Acrylic (or any other acrylic weight 4 yarn)
- I used 390g of yarn [600m] or 654 yds [13 oz]
- A 6.5 mm crochet hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Stitch Markers
Abbreviations:
- [ ]: Repeat instructions within these brackets the defined number of times.
- { }: Numbers in these brackets indicate the number of stitches or clusters you should have.
- ch: chain
- dc: double crochet
- eor: end of row
- rep: repeat
- sc: single crochet
- sk: skip
- sl st: slip stitch

Beautiful Crochet Pocket Shawl: The Pattern
Ch 40 (or a multiple of 2 for base)
Row 1: Dc into 4th ch from hook, dc until eor. {38}


Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn, [sk 1, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc back in sk ch], rep 11x, dc in the last st.





Row 3: Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in next ch, dc in each st until eor. {38}

Attach Beige Yarn
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, [dc in next st, sl st in next st], rep 18x, sc in the last st.






Attach Green Yarn
Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc in back loop only until eor. {38}





Row 6 = Rep Row 2
Row 7 = Rep Row 3
Row 8 = Rep Row 4
Repeat this combination of 4 rows how many times you need to reach your desired size.
I made 23 combinations. (92 rows)
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Pockets
Ch 30
Row 1: Dc into 4th ch from hook, dc until eor. {28}
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn, dc in next st, dc until eor. {28}
Row 3-9: Rep Row 2
Row 10: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, [dc in next st, sl st in next st], rep 12x, 1 sc in the last st.
Row 11, 12 = Rep Row 2
I made 12 rows for pockets.

Border of Pockets
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each st around the pocket, as evenly as you can. Sl st in 1st ch sp.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing your pockets onto your shawl.
Sew the pockets onto your shawl:
- Place your 1st pocket onto the right side of your shawl, making sure you are placing right side out and as follows:
- Measure 1.5 inch (3.5 cm) from the bottom edge, and place your pockets there, making sure to place them at the center. With long tail of yarn, sew your pockets onto project.
- Fasten off, weave in ends.

Border of Shawl
To add the border to your shawl:
Attach your yarn to any stitch of your shawl.
Row 1: Ch 3, dc into each sp all around your shawl, as evenly as you can. Make sure you place enough dc all around the edge.
Sl st to ch 3 from beginning of row.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in back loop only until eor, sl st to ch 3 from beginning of row.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
