Blue Celeste Crochet Cardigan

Level: Easy +

Notes:

  • This pattern is written in US terms
  • The base chain is multiple of 2
  • Written pattern in size Large
  • Finished Size: 18 in W x 22 in H (57cm W x 61cm H)

Materials:

Abbreviations:

  • * *: repeat instructions within asterisks defined number of times
  • Ch: chain
  • Eor: end of row
  • Rep: repeat
  • Sc: single crochet
  • Sc3tog: single crochet 3 together
  • St: stitch(es)

Note: There is a slight difference between rows 2 & 3.

  • At the end of Row 2, you will sc into the same st of your final sc3tog.
  • At the end of Row 3 you will have 1 st remaining, sc final st here. This will be the repeating row.

Starting Chain Sizes

  • Small – 50
  • Medium – 54
  • Large – 56
  • XL – 62
  • XXL – 66
  • XXL – 72

Ch 56 (multiple of 2) size L

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc until eor. (55)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, *sc3tog, ch 1 – using the last stitch you worked and the next 2 st*, rep until last stitch, ch 1 and sc in same st.



Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, *sc3tog, ch 1 – using the last stitch you worked and the next 2 st*, rep until last st, ch 1 and sc into the last stitch.



Row 4 to Row 53: Rep Row 3.

If you prefer it to be longer, keep adding rows until desired length

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Starting Chains:

  • Small – 16
  • Medium – 18
  • Large – 20
  • XL – 24
  • XXL – 26
  • XXXL – 28

Ch 20 (size L)

Repeat same pattern as back panel.

Ch 8

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 6 st. (7) 

Row 2: Sc in back loop of same st, sc in the back loop in next 6 stitches.

Row 3 to Row 29: Rep Row 2.

Make as many rows you need for your wrist measurements. It has to be an odd number. 

Size Adjustments:

  • Small – 27 rows
  • Medium/Large – 29 rows
  • XL – 31 rows
  • XXL – 31 rows
  • XXXL – 33 rows

Sleeves

To start the sleeves you will work on the rows of the ribbing.

Attach yarn to side of ribbing.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each st across.

[Size S- 27, M – 29, L – 29, XL – 31, XXL – 31, XXXL – 33.]

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, *sc3tog, ch 1 – using the last stitch you worked and the next 2 st*, rep until eor and sc in same st

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, *sc3tog, ch 1 – using the last stitch you worked and the next 2 st*, rep until eor and sc in the last st. 

Row 4: Rep Row 3

Now we will start increasing every 2nd row.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, 2sc in the same st, *sc3tog, ch 1 – using the last stitch you worked and the next 2 st*, rep until eor, 2 sc in the last st.

Row 6 to Row 10: Rep Row 3

Row 11: Rep Row 5

Row 12 to Row 17: Rep Row 3

Row 18: Rep Row 5

Row 19: Rep Row 3

Row 20: Rep Row 5

Row 21 and Row 22: Rep Row 3

Row 23: Rep Row 5

Row 24 and Row 25: Rep Row 3

Row 26: Rep Row 5

Row 27 and Row 28: Rep Row 3

Row 29: Rep Row 5

Row 30 to Row 47: Rep Row 3


Body Ribbing

Ch 8

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 6 st. (7)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in the back loop only until eor. 

Row 3 to Row 149: Rep Row 2.


Assembly

  1. Lay all the pieces together with the wrong sides facing up.
  2. Start from shoulders and sew.
  3. Sew the sleeves.
  4. Sew from bottom of the side and sew up along until armpit and continue under sleeves and finish. 
  5. Sew the body ribbing.
