– Yarn – 1.6 oz / 82.7 yards of the Red Heart Super Saver Medium 4 Acrylic 100 % color Light Blue

– Hook N# H/5mm

– Scissors

– Yarn needle

– Stitch marker

Abbreviations

– Ch: chain

– Eor: end of row

– Rep: repeat

– Sl st: slip stitch

– St: stitch(es)

– Hdc: Half double crochet

Gauge

– 13 sc x 13 rows (4×4 inch square)

Measurements

– Size adult: Width – 5in W x 10.5in H – (or to the length you need to fit snuggly around your head. Make length of headband 3 inches less than head circumference.)

Easy Crochet Twist Headband: Pattern Instructions

Make a slip Knot

Ch 16

Row 1: Sl st in the 2end ch from hook, hdc into the next ch, *sl st into the next ch, hdc into the next ch. Rep from * to eor. At the end finish the row with sl st.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, ch hdc into the same first st, sl st into the next st, *ch hdc into the next st, sl st into the next st. Rep from * to eor. At the end finish the row with hdc.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sl st in the same first st, hdc into the next st, *sl st into the next st, hdc into the next st. Rep from * to eor. At the end finish the row with sl st.

Row 4: Rep Row 2

Row 5: Rep Row 3

Repeat this combination of this 2 rows by row 72

Easy Crochet Twist Headband: Assembly

Lay the headband horizontally with the right side facing up. Fold the headband in half lengthwise, right sides together.

Hold each of the two short folded sides, one in each hand. Bring the two short, folded sides up to meet one another.

Insert one folded side into the other, overlapping the folded halves. See the photo above.

You should have 4 layers to stitch through. With a tapestry needle and the yarn tail, sew the edges together.

Weave in loose ends and turn the headband right-side out.
