Back Panel

Chain 64+3 (multiple of 8+3)

Row 1: Dc into 4th ch from hook, dc across.

Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as a first dc + ch 1), turn, *[sk 1, dc]*, rep to eor.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, 2dc into the same st, *sk 3, [dc, ch 2, dc], sk 3, 5dc into next st*, rep to eor; sk 3, 3dc into the last st.

Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc into the next 2 sts, *[dc, ch 2, dc], into the ch2sp from previous row, dc into the next 5 sts*, rep to eor, dc into the last 3 sts.

Rep this combination of 4 Rows until you have 33 rows.

Row 5: Rep Row 1. Ch 3, turn, dc in each st, except the ch2sp from previous row, one dc in each space. (65 dc)

Front Panels

Chain 32+3. Repeat the same pattern as back panel until Row 23.

Right Side

Row 24: Ch 3, turn, dc into the next 2 sts, [dc, ch 2, dc], into the ch2sp from previous row, dc into the next 5 sts, [dc, ch 2, dc], into the ch2sp from previous row, 1 dc into the last 3 sts.

Row 25: Ch 3, turn, dc in each st, except the ch2sp from previous row, ch only one dc in each sp. (33 dc)

Row 26: Ch 4 (counts as a first dc + ch 1), turn, *[sk 1, dc]*, rep to eor.

Left Side

  • Chain 32+3 (multiple of 8+3).

  • Fasten off. Cut the yarn.
  • Turn as you are starting Row 24.
  • Skip 18 stitches .

Row 24: Attach yarn. Ch 3, dc into next the 2 sts, [dc, ch 2, dc], into the ch2sp from previous row, dc into the next 5 sts, [dc, ch 2, dc], into the next ch2sp from previous row, dc into the last 3 sts.

Sleeves

Chain 56+3 Repeat the same pattern of 4 rows combination until row 13.

Sleeves - Malaya Crochet Cardigan

Assembly

  1. Lay all the pieces together with the wrong sides facing up.
  2. Start from shoulders and sew.
  3. Sew the sleeves.
  4. Sew from bottom of the side and sew up along until armpit and continue under sleeves and finish

Borders

Border for Button Up and along the neck Start at the right side bottom.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each st all the way around until the left side bottom. At the neckline 3 sc in the same stitch for the both angles.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st all the way around until the right bottom side. Before going up to the left side, place the stitch markers for how many buttons you need for your size.


Button Holes

Use stitch markers where you want to place the button holes. Ch 1, sk 1, and sc to next hole marker. Be sure to chain enough stitches to fit the size of your buttons (but not too loose).

Row 3 will go all the way around including the edge of the bottom.

Attach yarn in any place.

Ch 1, sl st in each st all the way around, along bottom up, neck line and edge of the bottom, sl st. to the first ch 1.


Sleeve Border

Attach yarn in any place Ch 1, sl st in each st all the way around.

To make the fluffy edge of the sleeves you need stretching cord

Insert the stretching cord between the holes made by (Ch 1, sk 1, dc) from second Row. Tie the cord as needed.
